My name is Wrapto and I paint canvasses, walls and people’s faces.

I’m a freelance artist living around a bunch of creative friends in the heart of Scotland. I studied on a postgraduate degree in comics/sequential art and published my first print comic as a result of that. Aside from that I am mostly self-taught, but I do a lot of courses like life drawing, charcoal classes.

My style varies widely as I like to experiment in different mediums, but I’m most comfortable working with markers - typically Copic, uni POSCA, Kurecolour or Krink. More often than not I use traditional tools as I prefer being hands-on, though I do create digital work with a tablet too.

WHILST YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO SAVE AND SHARE MY ARTWORK, BUT PLEASE DO NOT STEAL IT/CLAIM YOU CREATED IT.

I've got an Etsy shop coming up soon for prints and originals, but my tumblr is where I talk the most. Throw me a message there if you want a real conversation - I am a chatty type of soul.

Silvery alien blobs in a desert; very Dali. Very Grant Morrison.
I liked it a lot so I saved it, you needn't thank me!

The feeling is mutual. I am not being a sycophant here - I feel like our styles come from similar places.
It'd be great to collaborate on something maybe some day.

I know what you mean! Wow.. what is that place?
I'd say my work is motivated by certain ideals about flow, pattern, aesthetics etc. and that it stems from a wanting to express these perfect, abstract mental concepts. It's like the forms I see in my imagination are metaphorical for my emotions.
Do you ever feel like you 'unlock hidden truths' about yourself when you make art?

I see a lot of things in my dreams and my imagination that I want to try and portray. Feelings and emotions and concepts that can't exist elsewhere. If I can conceive of something, or see something in my mind's eye then I want to be able to draw it. Impossible shapes and spirals and objects that wouldn't work in reality, that sort of thing.

For me it's about having fun whilst you make something, and not necessarily trying to achieve something. Just trying things and seeing what feels right.
